Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (DST) was founded in 1913 by 22 dynamic women on the campus of Howard University.  The Sorority is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services, support and programs that promote human welfare in communities around the world.

The Bermuda Alumnae Chapter was established in June 1989.  With more than 60 local members comprised of educators, lawyers, Human Resource professionals, social workers, entrepreneurs, actuaries, politicians, nurses and much much more.  We continually strive to uphold the principles of sisterhood, scholarship and service as the cornerstone of our existence, and serve our community with pride and dedication.

We are proud to offer many programmes to the community of Bermuda.

The Delta Pantry provides two food hampers a month for one family and senior. The food hampers are filled with essentials  such as canned goods, fresh vegetables, frozen goods and a gift voucher.  Goods purchased  for collection and packaging come from our local vendors and farmers.

Shop to Adopt is an annual programme that sees both children and seniors receiving at least one gift during the holiday season.  We provide free gift wrapping and encourage customers to contribute by choosing to sponsor a foster child .

The Crimson & Crème Secret Santa is one of the Bermuda Alumnae Chapter’s annual gift giving events.   Our local chapter provides gifts to select foster children.

The Bermuda Alumnae Chapter has been partnering with the Salvation Army Services Ministries for the past 15 years.  Our team of dedicated members commit to assisting with their mobile feeding programme once a month.  Here we prepare sandwiches accompanied with a cup of soup and deliver to those in need.As a special treat we also contribute baked goods.

Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) is our mentor programme for young ladies from the ages of 13 – 18.  We provide bi-weekly sessions discussing relevant topics for teenagers and today’s environment.
