The SPCA is an advocate for animal welfare. We assist in cruelty to animal cases, and find new homes for unwanted animals. The SPCA is passionate about educating people, especially children, about the rights of all living creatures.  Our mission is threefold:

  • To provide effective, lawful means for the prevention of cruelty to animals
  • To promote the education of the general public on the care and wellbeing of all animals
  • To encourage and promote kindness to animals

The SPCA has an open-admission, quality care facility that accepts all animals regardless of their species, age, gender, temperament and medical condition. Animals enter the SPCA for a variety of reasons, including as strays, rescues and surrenders. Every animal is evaluated for health, temperament, and case managed individually to find their best adoptive home.

In addition to the adoption programme, the SPCA provides the following programmes:

  • Low cost de-sexing and microchipping of cats for the general public (CatSnip programme).
  • Educational programme to schools; Seminars for the general public
  • Investigation of cruelty cases
  • After hour emergency services for animals that have been injured and/or need emergency care
  • Lost and Found portal on our website (spca.bm) to allow the public to post all missing and found animals which feeds to our Facebook page enabling thousands to assist in returning them home
